Early Release

Mini Monthly Sardine: MAY 🌸

There’s something quietly magical about May.

Here in Wales, the shift feels especially alive, hedgerows soften, gardens begin to hum with colour, and the air carries that unmistakable promise of warmth. After the long stretch of cooler months, everything seems to wake up at once. Buds unfurl, blossoms appear almost overnight, and suddenly the world feels full again.

This month’s Mini Monthly Sardine is my little tribute to that moment.

The design reflects the joyful burst of blooms that define May,  bright, cheerful flowers standing tall and full of character. I wanted each sardine to feel like a tiny window into a garden just coming into its own, capturing that sense of freshness and anticipation that this time of year brings.

Because May feels so full of life already, I’ve decided to release this one a little earlier than usual (2 days early!). It just didn’t feel right to wait,  the blue skies and early blossoms were too inspiring to hold back.

As with the rest of the series, this piece is part of my ongoing Mini Monthly Sardine collection, with a new design released on the 15th of each month. Each sardine is stitched at 60 x 60, making them small, satisfying projects that build into a growing seasonal story over the year.

May, though, might just be one of my favourites so far.
